What year truck?

I am looking to build a 3rd gen and was wondering what year truck is the best for bombing. For example 2001. 5 had disc brakes and HO's had small vp pumps. Are there things like this to look for with 3rd gens.

I have an '03 and I believe the '03-4's are the best for bombing since they have less of the emissions stuff on them.
