Biodiesel again....

Oil use puzzel??

I am a Land Surveyor. As time went by, and equipment accumulated, the weight kept getting more.

860 lb 4-wheeler, Custom utility bed. Lots of stuff.

So, diesel gives economy. Heavy front end demands 4wd.

So, thats how I wound up with mine.

A Toy. It sounds like a farm tractor. Makes noise and smoke. Easy to maintain. More reliable than my former 7. 3 powerjoke. Economy. Cummins reputation. The truck is built/looks like a brick.

I use mine as a daily driver, and to haul my jeep around to the trails. . My only problem is, my trailer needs brakes and a new floor, and my jeep needs transmission work. . so for now, the truck is just a daily driver.

This was only my second Dodge purchase, and my first Dodge truck purchase. I went with the Dodge/Cummins for reliability, it was also the truck my wife liked the most when we were looking. It was bought solely for towing, and an occasional trip. The diesel is more ecconomical to operate, and twice the fun to drive. I love the noise it makes, and how hard it pulls, it is truly a mans truck. I will admit I spend more time waxing and adding options then I do driving, it is more like a big hobby. I enjoy working on it, I figure all the money I have saved due to it's low maintenance, allows me to add more gadgets. There is a big differance between always needing to work on a truck, and working on one for fun.

This is our trailer, and I swear my truck smiles everytime I hitch up.

Daily driver and house puller. We are full-timers and move about every 3 months. Today, we were in the wife's Tundra, and I commented that her truck is like the Quarter Horse, while the CTD is like a Clydesdale.

DD and toy hauler. I needed/wanted a quad cab with 4 doors. and wanted the 6 speed. + I needed something more reliable than my previous powerchoke.

And in the American way, I wanted the biggest, most powerful truck I could buy.

Daily driver, Toy, Work Horse,

I use mine to Tow a 28 ft inclosed trailer with a 50 gal H20 tank, 35 gal fuel tank A sandrail and 3 quads to Glammis and Dumont dunes to camp. I have to 4 wheel while towing to the place where I like to camp (AS FAR AWAY FROM EVERBODY AS POSSIBLE :D

Baby Jaine is my daily driver when I'm not on my Harley. I also do historical re-enactments and haul a large canvas tent and some furniture around on weekends. I just put a sub floor in the truck bed so I can drive my truck into the city and not show everyone that it is loaded with stuff.

J. Post - try it with the rubber side down. :D

Weekend driver (walk, bike, or company rig to work).

Luxury hauler for two border collies.

Haul firewood.

Hunting rig.

Get me through the snow rig.

Haul old Cascade camper.

Haul "shack" topper and toys on extended trips to exotic western US and Canadian playgrounds.

Haul exhaust brake.

Okay, haul my ego around rig. VAROOOM. Oo.

Need the Cummins

I had to have the Cummins engine to haul my wife around. The Duramax and Powerstrokes just wouldn't cut it ( if she ever reads this stuff I'm dead).

Really... I tow a 10k travel trailer all over the western US and Mexico. Got to have power, torque and reliability... ... . let's see..... yep..... that requires a Cummins engine.

I don't believe the other two diesel engines are in the same universe as the Cummins... . they're gasser V8's with diesel heads.

Doesn't mean it's a "bad" engine..... just not a real diesel.

It's surprising how many Ram/Cummins P/U's are parked outside the office these days. I work for the Forest Service (flame suit on) and there are "no" Duramax... one powerstroke... and six Rams right now. That's just so typical of this area in general. If you want a reliable truck and you're hauling horses or hay or something... . you just gotta get the Dodge.
