Had a brain fart:D and can't remember what the tube is between the air filter elbow hose and the turbo elbow hose is called? I haven't taken it apart but remember reading some of you guys broke the inneards out to improve air flow.

Have you noticed a significant improvement? Any ideas why DC has the restriction? Problems with breaking it out? Warranty issues?

btw brain farts are a direct correlation to anything you want.

VietDoc. I preformed the "minor surgery" on the inlet tube between the air filter box and the turbo just the other day. Last post was on 3/08/03 if you want to read how I did it. I have noticed a very slight increase in turbo whine and wouldn't swear on a stack of bibles, but it feels like the turbo spools up a little quicker. Anyway you look at it. it removes a lot of restriction .

My understanding is, the "snorkel" is the tube that draws air from the fender to the air (filter) box. Great debates in 2nd Gen. about removing it for better air-flow, but higher air temps (when drawn from under-hood). I've always considered the hose between the airbox & the turbo as the turbo inlet hose.
