Bio-Desiel?????!!!

Cummins position on biodiesel interesting

I believe I've also read synthetic diesel can be made from natural gas also, but there again "oh the cost of it",kinda funny diesel made from crude was considered junk years ago. . How so easy that word "cost". So many alternatives out there seem to be available, but not cost effective so they say. "If you build it they will come".

According to his most recent book, "Beyond Oil", Kenneth Deffeyes points out that Texaco has refined the process, although this new process focus's on hydrogen production with a byproduct of carbon dioxide. Texaco has sold at least eight such plants to China, who unfortunately let the carbon dioxide go to atmosphere. Kenneth goes on to say the next step in this coal gassification process is to produce dimethyl ether which he says is an "almost ideal diesel fuel" Hmmmm? As for cost estimates for diesel fuel based on this process, "between $1. 00 and $2. 00 per gallon before taxes are added". Add your federal and state taxes and I guess it would cost $ :( to us consumers at the pump.

what ever happened to syn Diesel ?

It went a way after the Oil countries lowered the cost of there oil and the Gov made deals. Why no outsiders will ever know except if they inquire twelve years after the fact . One oil minister stated that you go to alternate fuel and we will lower the price to make it not cost effective. How a bout that. Also how do you get the OK from the People to build a plant ware to put it answer NOT in my neighborhood , Tree hugger ,fumes will damage the trees and ground water from run off of spills Need more study . Locate a plant in the other side of town (closer to the workers) saves fuel , Would need tax brake for ten or more years . on and on and on . Guess who has the most stock in oil. ? You don't have to look in the bushes to find out. Ron Oo. Bissett in Metro Louisville KY

Syn DieselI Just read an article put out by Holiday Rambler & Cummins That failures caused by the use of Bio Diesel or other fuel additives are not defects of workmanship or material supplied by Cummins, INC & can not be compensated under the Cummins warranty. Bosch will only let you use Diesel+5% Fame which is only 5% Bio. B20% is$3. 30 a gal, B100% is $3. 50. It still is not known what Bio has on seals, & Bio has the bad habit of growing strange things in the fuel tank.
