Diesel smell out of clothes?

My New Truck???

I just couldn't pass up an opertunity to pass along a good story about the "uninformed". Today at a appriciation meal "put on by one of our suppliers" I heard some guys talkin' diesel , and as always I had to become a part of it . A friend of mine was asked if he still had his powerstroke , to which he answered yes . Then another guy chimes in , "you'll have to get ya' a new one next year , when the put the Cummins in em':--) Then before I can help em' out with the truth , another one chimes in , "yeah , that would be better than the Detroit that they've got know". I said " you mean Navistar/ International", He says "well whatever" Then I say ," The Cummins rep that I talked to last year , said that Dodge has the contract with Cummins for 6 more years , as far as he knows . To which he answers " nope Ford 's gettin it , I've seen it , it's a 6 cyl. Then the last bit of wisdom I hear is from the Chevy guy. " I don't care , i'm a chevy man , and next year their gonna have Cat power " To which I answer , OOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKK then.

Man am I glad that they got me straighted out;)

:D :D :D

Twice in the last 2 days I've been told that Ford owns Cummins. Guess the name will have to be changed to Foge or something like that. Fodge, Dofe, dodgefo, FnnDodge? ;)

Do them a favor...

If somebody is a f_@&ing idiot, tell them so. If you don't tell them, they will go through life never knowing. You will be doing them a favor. Someday they might even thank you. Some people absolutely wreck me. :-laf :-laf :-laf

what i hear is..

I heard dodge bought the HUMMER line and will be putting in the 5. 9. I guess you can call it a "CUMMER" Oo.

This is what I heard.

Apparently F)RD bought 7% of Cummins so that they could have Cummins FIX what was wrong with their International, this FIX brought along the "PowerStroke".

Are there any takers on this one?

Don't know if this is true or not.

I don't think so Stranger! :p But nice rumor!:D

I have a friend that had 6. 9's and 7. 3's in his fords they ran pretty strong (pulling power) without the turbo.

Ford was running Cummins in its med/heavy duty line up.

Good reason to give Cummins some working capital to ensure

that ford would have supply of the Cummins engines.

I like ford pretty much but the 6. 9 he had started to have fuel problems at 100,000 plus. :(

Many parts of the fuel injection system were made out of plastic and started to break. :eek: :{

This one had me laughing for a few minutes. I drove the Cummins up to the Little Rock area last week for a 2 day job. The foreman had a 1 TON CREWCAB DURAMAX 4X4. He was sitting it in on the phone when I pulled up. I waited and introduced myself to him. After talking shop for a few minutes the conversation turns to "When am I getting rid of my Cummins and buying a REAL truck??" He asked what kind of mileage I got. I told him 20-21 at 75-80... which is the truth. He said that is what he was getting only at 80-85. I told him I got around 12-13 towing a 13K trailer at 70mph. Of course he gets 15-16 towing the same thing at 75. Then he gets into how fast his truck was. It was a stock truck. I figured we could settle that one since it didn't involve driving very far... . if I could stop myself from laughing over the first two bits of info he had given me. Anyway, he agrees to a little run up the country road... . knowing he was just going to stomp my truck. He pulled out and waited for me to get behind him then nailed it. I went around him in the top of third gear and ran my truck all the way to 115mph. He had to be at least 300 feet behind me. I stopped to turn around at a small ice house up the road and waited for him to see if he wanted to try again. He turned around without stopping and went back to the site. He wasn't in a very good mood. The funny thing was I don't think he knew my truck was BOMBED... . and I didn't tell him. Trade it in for a REAL truck???... CJ

On my way back to our camp site in Calgary during the diesel stampede...

I had just stopped and gotten steaks for a barbecue that night and I got on the freeway and had just shifted to 5th at 55 MPH and right next to me was a duramax that I didn't see pull out behind me he wave good by with a **** eat'n grin on his face and hammers it. He gets about a car length before I catch him and blow him off, then I let off and give him another try this time we are doing 65 MPH. I waste him and run it up to 105 MPH then lift and in my rear view mirror is this little red rocket(Piers' 2WD dodge) closing on me like I'm standing still. By his closure rate he had to be doing 130 MPH. I let the master take the lead and we headed back to our campsite. Piers was kind of upset that the duramax wouldn't race him and either would I. :( (You don't mess with a scorpion) I din't help that the night before at our camp site they had told me in Canada they impound the vehicle if you are 40 clicks over the speed limit. We where in a 110 KPH zone and I was already running 170 or so.

Just before this happened Jason (Northwest custom) where heading back from the dyno and as we got on Hi way1 we both put the hammer down and completely darkened 4 lane of traffic. I'm in the lead and all of the sudden there is a Calgary cop. I jumped right in behind him as Jason not seeing him pulled along side. Luckily he wasn't looking in his rear view mirror.:D

It was some fun up the great north!!!!!
