whatis "d" status?

To make a long story short... I've been having some problems with my 04. I talked to my sales person about it, and they suggesed maybe getting a new truck. There were no trucks on the lot that I wanted. (Same as my 04). So we speced one out just so I could get the price differance. Well she said it was to late in the day to do much, and she would call in the morning with the info. About 4 days later she calls and tells me the new truck was already in "D" statues???? I told her I was just checking prices, and had no obligation to buy. She said that was true, but sense I was having problems that they should get me into something differant. I guess we will see what happens when it comes in. How soon does it take to go from "D" status to being delivered?

I think it’s “D-1” status. I ordered mine on 12/27 and it was put in “D-1” status last week, that means no changes on your order. Also I believe the order has been put on a schedule for production and after that it could take 5 to 20 days to get delivered.

Mine was ordered on 03/04/04 it did not go to D1 until 03/26/04 and was not built until 04/21/04. From there it stayed at KZ (built and released from plant) until 05/20/04. I picked my truck up on 06/03/04, they received it the evening before, so it took 13 days to come by railcar from Saltillo to Waynesboro Georgia.

My chrysler code sheet says "D" status = firm schedule, serial number assigned, appropriate time in station (5) working days. "D1" status = gateline: plant has sequenced the unit for production, estimated ship date assigned, approximate time in station is (12) working days...



Maybe there is a different code sheet for our CTD's. Bottom line is that if you ordered it on 3/4/04 and it didn't arrive until 6/3/04, that is the real code status... Guess I'll have to drive a "rent a wreck" for a little longer... :-laf

sounds like this sales person is giving you a line of poop! D Status is when the vehilce order has been accepted by Chrysler, the Car has been built and assigned a VIN. It is assumed at that point the dealer has a firm deal, other wise this vehicle was already ordered. It has been my experience it usually takes at least 10 working days to go from BA status to a point that they actually start working on the build. I think your sales person may abe trying to put the screws to you... . Just some FYI from Dodgerep!

As stated earlier mine went to D-1 (gateline waiting for build date) on 03/26/04, it was at that time that I was able to get a VIN for the truck but could still not get a firm build date. Since I ordered mine on 03/04/04 it did not make the March build schedule, it also was put on hold the first 2 weeks of March, per DC customer service, for a problem with the Deisel meeting the 50 state emmissions??



Any way, the next phase was they build the frame, mine went to framing on 04/19/04. it dosen't take long then. What really surprised me was the lenght of time it sat on the dock before shipping. I think they were teaching it to speak english, must have been a slow learner.



I am not sure when the cut off dates are for the next months build dates, but keep bugging customer service, just don't believe everything they say. I was told of a ship date of 04/19/04, this turned out to be of my build date.
