I just purchased a 2005 Ram SLT 3500 Diesel. The window sticker states under the single rear wheel group : 9. 25 Front axle and 11. 50 rear axle. Also under the 5. 9 Cummings Engine group it states: GVW Rating 12,200 pounds. What's all that mean? My door sticker states that the truck has a GVRW of 9900 and the GAWR front is 5200 and rear is 6200. One last question, is the lift pump in the fuel tank on the 05 model? Is the lift pump the same thing as a fuel pump on a car? Thanks for clearing any of this up for me. I'm looking for a good manuel to educate myself with but thus far have found nothing that covers the 05 year model.

The 9. 25 and 11. 5 is the size of axle that your truck is equiped.

On the 05 CUMMINS I am uncertain of the lift pump is in the tank or on the side of the fuel filter but you are correct that it is a fuel pump. The lift pump is a low pressure pump which feeds the high pressure Bosch Fuel injector pump.

This Website will be better than any book you would find, because it will answer the questions you ask!

gvwr is your gross vehicle weight when your loaded. if your truck weighs 7000, then you can have 5200 more to meet the gvwr, over that your overloaded

No, my 3500 is a SRW, the numbers on the window sticker just seemed to have no relation to the turck I purchased, that's why I asked what the 9. 25 and 11. 5 had to do with the axle's on my actual truck. Those numbers had no relationship to the door sicker at all that I could see nor did the 12,200 GVWR on the sticker.
