First Time Cummins Owner -- Former Ford Girl

I would have thought this would be a FAQ. Did a search, too.

What's a good book? Something along the lines of "Everything you always wanted to know about your Cummins Dodge but didn't know you should ask. "

Is the Chilton's manual, or similar ilk, worth the money?

I agree with all these guys.

If you think the Shop Manual is expensive, consider that many people are paying the dealership well over $100. 00 to change the fuel filter on the 3 Gen. trucks.

The filter can be purchased for somewhere in the $15. 00 range. If you read how to change it, in the Manual, you could do it yourself & save enough to pay for the Manual. Then, everytime you changed the filter, you would save that money, again. BTW, the job is easy, even if you are not a mechanic.

You don't need to use the manual, very often, to pay for it. I think it's a great idea!!!

The best value for your money and a book that you'll get more info from than you could ever use or find in any chilton's or service manual is the TDR!!! :D

The Dodge manual was written by those esteemed individuals that put your truck together. The Clymer/ Chilton manuals are often written by taking one apart - that should tell you something right there. The book is thick for a reason (their pages aren't and thicker). More info that you could ever need is better that lacking that one piece you gotta have. OK - I'm done, I feel better ;)
