I'll soon be ordering a 2500 4x4. What kind of a deal should I expect on an order (either over or under invoice)? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First, you need to order through the fleet sales. I wouldn't pay more then invoice with rebates coming off of that. If you don't have any luck with your first dealership, go to the next one. I don't think you will have a problem. But like I said definately go through fleet sales. Plus, if you call and talk to the fleet salesman you can probably place your order without even leaving the house. You would only need to go to the dealership to take delivery of the truck. Good luck and happy hunting.

Mine was about $100 under invoice, less the rebates, $500 Farm Bureau deduction, and including a $500 regional discount. Some others have reported even more off the invoice. When you pay invoice you leave the dealer with a little over $1000 for placing the order for you, and $750 for their maintenance department for the PDI. You can get an invoice price at Edmunds.com. You can also check out the choices you will need to make, and the codes for some of the options. It helps to know exactly what you want when you call the fleet or internet sales person. You can see if the cost of each option makes sense for your situation and preferences. Advice, is get everything you really want so you have no regrets later. I placed my order by e-mail, and did not need to go to the dealership until it was time to pick it up. The FB discount is great. It cost $15 to join the FB, so net savings of $485. Allow 30 days from application to eligibility for the FB discount. You don't need to be a farmer to get it, at least not in Washington. Ordering is easy. Waiting for delivery is the hard part. Mine was almost exactly 8 weeks. If you can't wait, you can buy off the lot for at least $1000 more for the same truck - the dealer needs to pay for the flooring (finance) costs and you may not get exactly what you want in every detail. Enjoy!

To me, a good deal

is the one YOU are happy with and the dealer is willing to provide it at that price w/o gouging you later. If you get a good deal and the service is good - then I would say that, to me, is a good deal. I'll pay a little more to the dealer up front if I know that over the long run the dealer will take care of me. That's been the case with the dealer I have been dealing with over the last 5-6 years. Service has been good and they try to do warranty before they charge the customer. Most of my work was warranty and always had something done that costs me. The mechs & service dept will get a "tip" from me any time I can afford it (donuts, coffee, little things that show I appreciate the distance they go. I would rather pay 100$ for the "tips" than the 2k for the warranty parts, NOT saying that they would warranty an item that shouldnt be. Just that they do try to see if it is first, then they will deny and explain why. (ie: rear wheel seal leak - warranty, but not the shoes on the opposite side) Will stick by my dealer until proven otherwise. They have proven to be better and more "customer orientated" than others. Have recommended them to others and some have had better luck, while others have had same results as previous dealer.

So, it all boils down to - r u satisfied with the price/service. If not look for another dealer.

Just another 0. 015$ (bank is getting to lo for these opinions ;) !)

Farm Bureau membership varies. In Oregon it's more expensive. I paid $100 today--Marion County, Salem. The Portland area, in a different county, is $85. Still worth it.
