Alright Yankees:D,

I'm gonna be in the Springfield MA area next month and I'm looking for things to do while we're there.

We did the Boston thing last year, Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall, and just general shopping around the Boston area.

This year the only thing my wife really wants to do is to make a Whale Watching trip. Anyone ever hear of or have used Boston Harbor cruises? The idea of skimming at 40 knots in a 600 passenger capacity Cat kinds gets my blood pumpin. We both get something out of it. She see's whales, I get to go fast. :D

Guys, I'm open to just about anything. Something that we can do during the week would be cool too. We are coming in on Wednesday and leaving the Tuesday after. So, we'll have a few weekdays to do things. Distance isn't really a big deal as we've got unlimited mileage on the rental.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Curtis

Funny you should mention P-town Tim. My wife's friend and her husband got reservatioins for us there so we'll be leaving out of P-town for the whale watching trip. Thanks for the link.

We'll be flying in on Tuesday evening(16th) adn leaving on the next tuesday morning(23rd)

Looks like we'll be in P-town over the weekend so the rest of the time is ours to do something else. :D :)

We'll be staying in Palmer if it makes any difference.

Hey BIGDIG,

I might have to take you up on the offer to see the job site during the week. I was a PM at a rebar coating plant in Hingham back in 91 that was built just to supply rebar for one section of the tunnel. Oddly enough the company was called Harris Rebar. No relation unfortunately. They made a killing on the job though.

I'll shoot you a PM before we head that way.

Meeting up with some other diesel heads wouldn't be such a bad thing either. I'l be the guy in the Intrepid. :D

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Hey there,

Dont forget about The Big E! It starts on the 12th to the 28th and about 5 minutes from Springfield. It IS the biggest fair in New England. And the 9th largest fair in the nation.

And if your wife likes shopping for neat stuff, Come and see me at The Marlborough Barn. I'm about 40 minutes south from Springfield. We have a restaurant and everything. We are even on the way to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos. (I like Mohegan better ;) ) Thats if you are into casinos.

Hope we can get a little mini meet together to satisfy your diesel cravings.

The best thing about Southern New England, is that it's not a far drive to anywhere.

Enjoy Your Trip.

Lone Star boy,

Another couple of possibilities would be:

1) Mystic, Ct. ... visit the Seaport museum, and/or the Aquarium

2) Take the ferry from Pt Judith, RI to Block Island. If you've never been to "the Block" it would be worth the trip

If you want more info on any of those, PM me.

Jay
