What's a wrecked 1st gen worth?

Hey guys,

I have a friene with a 1st gen 2 wheel drive, ext. cab, cummins with 5spd, Dually. He put it in a ditch and bent the frame, truck still starts, but he says it's totalled because the frame is bent pretty bad. What is the drivetrain on one of these trucks worth? I think there are around 120K miles on it. Also, it has the banks package on it. Not sure which one, but I know there is a banks sticker on the side of the truck.

Does he know what he has? I'd offer him $1000 - $1500 for it if you have a need for the drive train. Would be a good buy at that price as long as nothing is screwed up from the wreak.

I paid $2000 for my donor truck. '92 W250 auto with 280k on clock but only about 40k on a rebuilt auto. Hit in the right front corner. My crew was already 4wd so I am selling the extra set of axles, 5. 9 gas engine/trans/tcase from the crew for the same $2000.



As far as the one you described, the getrag isn't that desireable so your looking at the engine, rear axle, and any body parts that may still be good. I'd agree with Stan at $1000-$1500

I bought my 93 reg cab 4x4 auto for 1100. It had 170K miles and a new set of tires. Not a beauty queen and I did have to put in an injector pump after driving for a year and 18K miles.



Of course mine was cheaper because it didn't have a tail gate.

when my truck got trashed last year i bought it from the insurence co for 1100. 00,

It would be worth the above mentioned amount to me, as I have a D-250 rolling chasis ( good frame) 3:55 axle sitting doing nothing. Here in the rust belt, everything cheap has a bad trans, plus poor body.

When I had my wreck in the 4x4 past December they asked me if I wanted to buy it back. Wasn't worth the money. I did pay $1500. for it when I got it. They wanted $2200. to buy it back.



It would be worth buying the truck $1000. - $2000. it would be worth it if theres alot of good parts
