Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Whats going on?? Dead pedal or sensor??

New to the board-- hope someone can point me in the right direction. When I start truck up it idles fine. When I take off the engine will go to 2000 rpm+ but the truck only will get up to 20 mph. After about 3 minutes with my foot to the floor it takes off like big time!! I have stopped, shut truck off and restarted and it does it but not as bad. Also, driving down the road at 52-60 mph I get dead pedal when in overdrive. I can kick it down and it takes right off. Goes back into od same thing happens. Any help would be appreciated.

Tell us what year it is! If it is a 2000-2002 cycle the key on and off three times leaving it on the third time and write down any number(s) that appear on the OD display. If it is a 98. 5 to 1999 this you will need a scanner to read the codes. Stop by an Auto Zone or like supply store and ask them to read your codes. SNOKING

truck is a 2002 quadcab 4x4. I went to autozone and they read computer and no codes.
