Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) whats in my trans

I just bought a 2000, 2500 4x4. It seems to hold on to the gears longer, and if i shift into 2nd, it will automaticly drop into 2nd at up to 65mph.



Is there a way to find out what mods were done to the trans? if any? I bought it from my buddy that works for ford. they got it in on a trade, so no luck on asking the guy.



I dont want to drop the trans for no reason. thanks for the help.

Chris, I suggest you go to a dealer and drive several automatics to see if yours is driving any different then the others. If it is you will need to give a "detailed" description of the differences before anyone can make any good guesses on corrective action. Hope this helps.
