Ok, theres this annoying kid in town that Daddy mustve bought him a newer (not brand new, maybe 00 model???) Corvette. It is an Auto and I know its all stock. I dont know jack about Corvettes other than my buddy who had a Lightning used to kill em! What would it take on my rig to beat a Stock Corvette like this one. If the time ever comes up I would like to shut em up!!

Then again the 2K's did the 1/4 in the LOW 13. s with a decent driver. Use 4x4 to launch but be carefulllllllllllllllll of the Shaft (S)

Ahhhh Keep him on the RIGHT side and use DRAG MODE on the blue chip and dead pedal it. He will Loose from the day going to NIGHT :D

Thats exactly what I wanted to do this evening but I got a red light and he ran it! Darnit!!

Drag mode is sweet, some serious smoke!!

You need to spend big $$ to beat him. i recently smoked a new ZO6,yes it felt good. and he was gaining on me at the end. But it cost a lot of $$ to beat that bone stock car.

With some bigger injectors, an HX-40 and a good launch in 4x4 you have a good chance to beat him to off the start. Build boost and keep your eye on the light turning red for the other direction of traffic so you dont get caught off gaurd. With out the boost built up you will get dusted. You should be able to take him 0-40 or 50. That should be good enough to make him look bad in front of any spectators as well.

To beat a ZO6 and a Driver that can run it to it's full potential, you need to be in the low 12's. Which with a 4x4 CTD requires over 600 HP.

A HX40/DD3/PEC/DTT Full Meal Deal combo may get you to the point of matching an Automatic 'Vette, but you need to be able to get the jump on the driver.

Wish I got 28mpg and could go 171mph

First thing I see you would have to do is:

Remove your bed,

only have a 1/4 tank of fuel

then

Remove hood and front fenders

then

Remove back seat and passenger seat.

This might bring you down to 5000lbs and you would only out weigh him by a couple thousand.

I watched one of these running one day that was supposedly stock except for drag radials running 11. 70s in the 1/4. It appeared stock and there were no bottles in the car. I bet a shot of nitrous would give you a 10 second car that got 28 mpg.

THAT car RIPS! There are two of them arround here 1 blue one black and I Like 'em until you get behind one. Waaay faster than the 2000 that jrandol has to deal with. But has that same ol UGLY rear that the designers looked as if they ran out of time on the table and had to finish up quick.

DF, I am over 600HP with the N20. ZO6's are no joke,I would love to own one. A good friend has an 02,it is incredible for a stock car.

What's it take ?

Last Friday night I had the pleasure of beating a buddys stock '03 Vette. He ran a 13. 40 @107 & I ran a 13. 38 @102. He apparently didn't have the Z06 option. :D

There is a video of a nissan going around the net that i saw. It is a japan only nissan, not released to north america. It's AWD and has serious power. The video is taken from another car on a highway, the nissan lit all 4 tires up going about 75 mph and then took off from the car as if it were stopping along the road. The driver then punches it and the car is still pulling away... the camera pans down to the speedo... the film car was doing about 110 and the "fast" car was almost out of camera range.

To beat a car that you outweigh by like 4-5k pounds is pretty impressive. Takes some power, and some life off your truck as well. hehe
