What's it worth

got a chance to pick up a 91 1/2 ctd D250 5 sp motor has 300,000 miles still runs great body work is fair needs frontend work I believe lower control arms are bad running gear wise and parts wise what do you all think is a fair price for this truck ?I dont want to insult the guy and offer him a price without getting a idea where to start.

I sold that identical truck, only with a set of training wheels (duals), for $3000 last spring. I could have probably gotten $3500, but I would go absolutely no more than that, esp if it needs front end work. Subtract accordingly if it has rust. Mine was just beat up and sun faded (colo and NewMexico sun); not a speck of rust on it.



I'd start at $2800 and work my way up, unless the paint is still pretty fiar to good. Then start at $3000 and work up about $500 or so.
