I have a 1998 12 valve 3500 cab and chassis 4x4 automatic with just under 60K miles on it. The truck spent most of it's life as a brush truck at a fire department in South Carolina. I removed the fire bed and built a custom work bed and fixed or replaced the following:
  • Re-sealed front engine cover (no more oil leaks)
  • New billet tappet cover
  • New water pump
  • New starter
  • New alternator
  • New heater core
  • New evaporator
  • New accumulator
  • New deep transmission pan
  • New pinion seal
  • New dash pad
  • New leather seat covers
  • New 4" exhaust
  • New carpet and pad (dynamat underneath)
  • New BFG tires
  • Custom front bumper and seps
  • 4 Light bars
  • New headlights (sport conversion)
  • New Rigid fog lights
I had to sell my house and move into a rental in another town, so I have too many vehicles and need to sell it but am not sure what it is worth, any input would be appreciated.

In the northeast, trucks with that mileage and condition would have no problem getting upwards of 18k! Guys love the mechanical engine and no emissions. Unfortunately they are hens teeth now thanks to the de icing products the state and towns use. Or they have been “bro’d” out with ridiculous lifts and tire combos making then unusable for the intended purpose. Good luck with your sale, you have a beautiful rig there!

Great it is low mileage. Hopefully the fuel system was maintained and a there is minimal body/chassis corrosion. Overall condition like anything will determine value. Don't go by KBB, should be able to do better.

It has low miles but it has hundreds of hours of idle time which results in more engine wear than driving it a couple hundred thousand miles. Reg cab, automatic with normal maintenance required parts. I can't see much over $10k.

I'm in Idaho and that is $15,000 truck. $!0,000 truck you can stand outside on the passenger side and see the road outside the driver side If it was a club cab $20,000
$10,000 is wishful thinking.
Like they say, if the truck belongs to me it's a $20,000 truck. If it belongs to you it's a $8,000 truck tops

I recently bought a '96 2500 5 spd 4wd, with Dana 80 rear axle and 3.54 diff, standard cab, with 121k miles in CA for $14k. I looked for many months for a truck like that to haul a 11. something foot camper on. It came with rear overloads, air bags, and sway bar. It hauls the '96 Lance 945 camper we just bought beautifully.

I would think your truck should be worth at least as much as mine.

Steve
