Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) What's that little hole in my boost elbow for?

I did a boost leak check this past weekend and discovered the little hole in the side of my pdr boost elbow. Does that allen screw they told me not to touch adjust the opening size? What purpose does that serve? BTW, we tested 5 trucks and 5 for 5 had at least one leak.

The hole acts as a controlled leak. (bleed orfice) That delays the opening of the wastegate to let you build more boost.

Thanks, that's what I had figured. So the adjustment screw increases or decreases that delay.

Yes, the tighter you go the more the boost will increase until you run out of fuel to drive the turbo further.
