The boss wants me to get A+ certified so Gateway will pay us for warranty work I do on our computers. I guess it wouldn't be to brilliant to bomb the tests, so I need to know what resources I should use as a study aid to prep for the tests. I'm reading A+ Certification for Dummies right now :)

I used the A+ test prep written by Glen Berg for test numbers 220-101 and 220-102 and I also used the Sybex A+ DOS/Windoze prep book. This was in 1998.

The tests are cake. I was way overstudied. I also like the Coriolis books for the more advanced stuff.

There's a great deal of study guides and material on the 'net -- beware that some are written by folks ike you, studying as they go, and may have errors. I usually go to one of the huge bookstores and skim through the available study guides and see which ones cover material I don't already know.

Lots of folks overstudy for these exams -- they aren't tricky or difficult, but do cover a lot of ground. Get one of the $40 practice exams from Boson and see how you do. If you're getting 90% or more on the practice test, stop studying and go take the real one.
