Right now I have a Prodigy brake controler.

Just wonder if anyone has a Jordan brake controler? How well do you like it?

I've had some older crappy units, but love my Prodigy. I tow in and around town with a 16' enclosed and 22' bobcat style trailer and it works wonders for me... ... but thats just me. I am sure the others are just as good too, its all just an opinion some times. :-laf

I have a Jordan on my current truck..... soon to be replaced by signature. Its a great controller, the best I've ever used, and I've used many of them including the Prodigy but I'm not sure I will move it to the new truck. I've heard that the brakesmart may be a little better if you want to spring the extra for it so I need to decide.

I've had great luck with the Prodigy. Very smooth, controlable stops. No experience w/ Jordan and Brakesmart.

Have the Brakesmart on my 96 and 03 the best there is. Takes to different trailers and different loads easily and braking is always smooth. Has the best flexibilty of brake types as well as alerts for how many axles it detects and if the trailer comes detacthed for any reason. There are provisions being made for added functions (EGT and boost) as well.

1. Brakesmart

2. Jordan

I wouldn't waste my time installing anything else... . and, yes, I've run the time-based and inertial controllers.

BrakeSmart hands down. I've run most of them and there is really no comparison. Jordan is the closest. Put mine on at around 12,000 miles and now have over 196,000 miles with no problems at all.

I just changed from a Voyager to a Brakesmaet last week. Wow what a difference when in town in stop & go traffic. No surge, smooth stops & releases. Well worth the $$ IMOH.

I just changed from a Prodigy to the Brake Smart. I also had the Jordan, it failed, and a couple of other controllers that didn't apply the brakes properly. These were all new when installed and used with the same 5 th wheel RV that weighs 12,500 pounds. The Brake Smart is the only one that really work well for me.

Jordan for me. By far the best customer service of ANY company I've ever dealt with. The install took a few extra minutes but what you gain in braking performance far out weighs the time spent. I'm very particular about installing anything in my truck and I did it in less than an hour.

For the money, the prodigy is excellent.

But you will never come close to the perfection of a unit that uses actual brake pressure rather then inertia.

Funny how almost all brake controllers used to be hydrualic, but now they seem like an entirely new beast.
