how do I make a fuel pressure gauge for my 99 truck to keep in the tool box as a back up gauge

or to check other trucks fuel pressure

it will come in handy

thanks

I bought a hose at the local plumbing supply, it was an A/C charging hose and used a small 0-30 psi guage from a Fisher pneumatic control valve.

would a liquid filled pressure gauge that sits on the top of the filter work you have two outlet one pre filter and after filter

on the 99 it's that way

or mount it under the hood some where

have one in cab and one under hood or a in line liquid fill gauge

just kicking it around a bit in my head

but I do need a back up gauge the one in cab will be digital by dakota gauges putting it in the cubby hole next the ac and heater control

there is a kit to put it there

so I can use piller next to wind shield for the other gauges

but I like to have a back up gauge

Do the AC hose thing as described above. Use a liquid filled o-30 PSI gauge and have your hose long enough to run it out the hood and through the door at the hood corner. I check mine at idle and do a WOT occasionally. I store mine in the cab in a Ziplock bag. I have checked many 24 valve trucks for fuel pressure while filling up at the gas pumps and we get to talking about our trucks. I usually take the time to show them the small event at ignition on,the 25 second event at ''bumping'' the starter, and the idle pressure.

The TDR is always mentioned as the source of this information.
