Hi All,

I need to know what the biggest size tire (BFG AT's) I can fit on my stock W250 4x4 Club Cab without having too many rubbing problems?
Ive got 235/85 16s on there now and they look like cookie cutters!

Well acording to a certain 4wd publication's chart. . 31x10. 50's... i dunno what that converts to... oh wait here we go 265/75R16... im not sure how correct their chart is, my dad took the bfg 33s off before he sold it to me. .

heres the issue ... pg. #56. . four wheeler, june 2000
also a nice article on caressing the cummins too #ad

Bill. I tried a set of 255/85R-16's. Loved the look but had rubbing problems when off road. Went back to the 235's. The 265/75 may work well. I think they are just a tad taller than the 235's and a little wider.

I have 285/75R/16's on my '93 4X4. They are the BF Goodrich AT's. They are close to the size of 33X12. 50's. They rubbed a little on the stock fender flares because my front springs were sagging a little. I fixed this by getting leaf spring shackles for like $13. 00. They look great. If you don't have fender flares or if your front springs are holdin' the front up pretty good, you should be able to go with 285's no problem. Good luck!

I currently am running Cooper Discovery All Terrain 285x75x16. Great tire, very good wear, very little noise. I do not do much 4-wheeling so not sure how they are in the woods. They do have deep tread though with some pretty good lugs on the outside wall. Only when I turn lock position in a parking lot do I hear them rub on the inner fenderwall. Not on the outside fender flare at all.

Hey RamBill!

My truck rubbed the lower front wheel well opening when I installed my 32. 7" X 12" (on 10" wide rims) Goodyear's. We had to trim the fender lip at the dealer before I could drive home!

I have since fixed this problem by installing the Skyjacker 2 1/2" springs in the front to level out my truck & greatly improved the OEM ride. Great ride and the clearance to run 33. 5" tires. I love these springs!

Did you find a First Generation to purchase?
