Black Guard

I believe it's called a Air Dam, or at least that's what I have always refered to it as. Someone else my chime in with some more technical name for it.

air dams are for urban "off-roaders"

Probably ripped off as in literally ripped off the truck like the first time I took the truck off-road. If it's only ripped, you can plastic weld it with TPO filler - that's what I did with mine.

To reinstall it, remove the fog lamps (or plugs) to gain access to the two attachment bolts.

The older trucks that didn't have a air dam didn't cool properly. Air would pack up under hood because of high air flow under engine. Air dams were added to create low pressure under engine for better air flow through the radiator , around engine and out the bottom. Its a towing thing... ... JIM

air dam as in ..... we just had 2 hurricanes, yes 2. palm tree ripped it off. i am kinda worried about the 2 lines on the front port side. i believe they are trans cooler lines. thought the little black thing would help protect the underneath side a little.
