Whats the engine rating???

Has anyone verified on the epa sticker that the new cummins in the ram is medium duty? Can you please do so and post your discovery. My sticker on my 99 is on the front accessory case on the drivers side. Its a black sticker.



I just want to make sure they did not compromise the longevity for more power like ford did? I assume its medium. But we all know what happens when you assume.

The 03 model year engine is built even stronger than previous model years.

The weight of the engine block itself is probably 35+pounds more than previous years.

Yes, the EPA label on the eng does stipulate medium duty as in past years.

According to Joe Donnelly Cummins added a "bed plate" to the bottom end, basically a mains girdle, to strengthen the bottom end even more on the HPCR engines. It's amazing to me Cummins will improve on something that is already bulletproof

I guess im a show me kinda guy. I went and looked myself. Its a medium duty. Nice lookin motor. Clean in compaison to the competition. It almost looks like you could work on it yourself.
