What is the maximum safe fuel pressure before the IP?

I'm NOT talking about rail pressure.

I know stock is around 7psi and some of the aftermarket pumps are around 15psi.

But can damage occur from higher pressure like 25psi?????

Probably going to get different opinions on this so here is mine. .

From what I have read the high pressures you mention (like 25psi) were bad on a VP44 but not so on a CP3 yet I still lean to lower pressures only because the excess pressure will be returned to the tank anyway.

Based on that I figure why push more fuel then you need back to the tank. Under low fuel conditions it might promote foaming.

I would be more concerned with the added work load of the FCS (fuel control solenoid) since it was not intended to see higher pressures or for that matter no pressure at all on the Euro applications. Just my thoughts anyway.

As usual, I agree with Matt. Pressures over 20 psi *might* damage the FCS long-term. But I think lmills is running over 20 psi with no trouble yet (IIRC).

Personally, I'd like to keep it around 10-12 psi at 60-80 GPH.
