2018 2500 reg cab 4x4......

I noticed a elec plug located just behind the front air dam on the drivers side.

Anyone know what this is? Snow plow???

Thanks in advance....

If it's a male plug that fits a 120volt receptacle. It's your block heater cord.
Nope.....

that’s on the passenger side. This plug is female and is actually attached to the inside left side of the air dam. It resembles a plug for a scanning tool.....

Try and take a picture of the plug. I would also craw underneath and see were the cord is routed to! If the cord is routed to the passenger side and terminates around the oil filter on the block, than this is probably the block heater!

On my son's 2013.5 he routed his block heater cord and plug to the driver side on his truck. The driver side was easier to reach the block heater plug when he wanted to plug into, as the truck is in his garage.

On my 2008, the block heater plug is almost in the middle of the truck. This way I can reach the plug from either side of the truck, depending on what side of the garage I am parked at.

A picture would go a lonnnggggg way in helping, or a description (size of connector and number of connecting wires) would be beneficial as well.

I’m too much of an infant to post digital images. But I did trace the wiring loom and again it’s NOT the block heater. The wiring loom is significantly large and terminates into the PCM area with another huge wiring loom.

Rectangular?? Many pins in it?? Sounds like a plow harness.

There is usually another one with 2 big pins it for the plow pump motor.

Yup, that’s what I’m thinking. There’s at least 6 female pins. I’m sure it’s a plow harness. The build sheet for the truck makes no mention of snow plow prep tho. The truck clearly has the plow mounting channels under there. This is good as I’m thinking of getting one, plow.....

it’s a beast and woul probably plow well..

What brand is favored out there? Here Fisher is Number 1.

Maybe it carried a plow at the dealership for a season. They didn’t remove that harness as a 2019 may use a different one??

Nah, I found this beast with 11 miles on it. It had been on the lot for over 400 days. The msrp was 49,843.00. I offered 39k I thought they would never go for it, they did. Had a serious vibration issue the kids down at CJC in California fixed after dropping over 5k on goodies. The Carson city dodge general manager told me to get F$&@ed and that the truck was fine ????. He’s a dick...... I suggest staying away from them unless it’s something like a broken cup holder. Back in the late 90’s they were the bomb, their lost now

I got a new 2018 4x4 CC CTD with 11 miles on it also. Listed for 55,400. Got it for 40,500.

My 16 2500 has that same plug which I found when replacing the front bumper with a real bumper and followed the wiring back to the cab but did not know what for and then realized I do not have the front bumper parking assist either and the wire sizes in this connector are small wire and not big enough for fog lights or plow harness wires. By the way I have a very good new stock front bumper with all attaching hardware and no fog light cutouts for sale if anyone had a small fender/bumper bender, not a scratch on it, maybe a couple of dead bugs!
