I did a search of the 3G forums and found very little on antifreeze. What I saw indicated that DC or Cummins was the preferred antifreeze. Has anyone found anything that is better yet still meets the Cummins specifications? Also, who has already winterized their truck? I'm in Texas so I don't have to worry about if for another couple of months, but I want to be ready.

Seems to be that the many are either using either Zerex Extended life or for longer term Zerex G-05. The G-05 needs to be cut with 30 – 50% water since it doesn’t come premixed.

Autozone and Walmart depending on your area carries them both.

Do a search on the whole site (or just the 2nd gen and Products sections) and you will find plenty of info. I suspect not enough 3Gens are at a point yet where they have had to change antifreeze... therefore little info.

All I know is it uses the pink stuff.

Not sure exactly what dodge uses, but when GM first came out with it I know mixing any green antifreeze w/ that stuff would form deposits or something in the coolant. If you were to switch over then you had to make sure every drop of the pink was out or you would have problems.

I've been told that the pink stuff dodge uses is the G-05 stuff that is yellow from Zerex. The last issue of the TDR had a good article on anti-freeze. Someone said the owners manual in the new trucks specifies G-05, is this true?
