I need to fab up an adapter from a sparkplug thread to where the injector threads into the head. Anybody know off the top of their head what it is? And is this thread the same on the second gen. heads. I know the early first gen head had a different thread.

The injector does not thread into the head.

The nuts thread into the head, and the nuts hold the injector down.

Those nuts are the same for 1st gen and 2nd gen, but I don't know what thead size they are. I have my old ones at home, and if you don't get an answer by tomorrow I can bring one to work and measure it.

The thread where the main fuel line attaches to the upper body is different for 1 gen and 2nd gen.

Actually, why do I need the old ones I have? a couple for spares maybe.

Do you want one to use for your rig? You could make a center portion and weld it to the nut. Then you don't care what the thread size is. . you'll have it.

Jay here's whats happening. If things go well I'll be taking the beast out to Bonneville. I think I have a shot at the 4cyl diesel record. If I happen to break a record they want to be able to check out my engine size to make sure that I am not lying about my cubic inches.

here's my posting in the other forum

So there a couple of ways of doing this all which seem to work real well if you have a gasser engine. Well if I can't use their way of checking the engine size I will need to pull the head off. Which is something I don't want to do in the middle of an ancient salt bed in 100 degree heat. One of my friends is a machinist so fabbing an adapter shouldn't be a problem. If you have some free time take a spin and check out that posting so we are on the same page.
