Forrest: The search table was corrupted. It wasn't finding anything before 9/29. I've redone the search index and you should be able to find everything now. I just did a search on kdp and it returned 352 threads.
For the others the search here is actually VERY powerful and you should be able to find just about anything you want. There is a help screen that explains all of the modifiers, etc right on the search page where it says "Allowed modifiers are +, -, *, >, < and " click here for more info/help" right below where you put in your search terms. There is also a thread in the FAQ section explaining it:
https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96125 .
AMink - I just did a search on "tire size" with the quotes and I am only getting posts that have exactly that in it. I went through the first 30 returns and every one of them had tire size in that order in it. Quotes definately do not seperate the words - if you put quotes around text it will return only posts with that in it. For example:
"lift pump" will find
I replaced my lift pump
but will not find
I tried to lift my pump
If you put multiple words in the search it will return any threads that have any of those words in it. For example a search on:
oil threads
would return any threads that have the words oil or threads in it. Using the + modifier will only return threads that have that word in it. For example:
+oil +threads
would only return a thread that had both of those words in it. But they could be on two seperate posts in that thread (one post having oil in it and one post having threads in it). If you want to only return threads that having multiple words in a single post then select show results as posts and use the + modifier and you will get that.
The help page explains all of this very thoroughly and gives other tips for finding your results. If you can't find what you are looking for with this search engine (as long as the search index isn't corrupted

- sorry) you won't find it with anything.
