CANT GET IN?

I snuck in through an old saved article in my Favorites list. When I try to access, it says "an error occured, cannot access my SQL database 10. 2. 14. 1(64).

???? Is it my system or the site, someone email me if you can. -- email address removed --

I'm not sure yet. I have the site band aided up right now. All 4 of our servers stopped responding at the same time - 5:20pm eastern time. I wasn't at a PC so I was trying to get things back up and running from my cell phone. I was able to get one of the web servers and the backup database server up and running a little after 7:00pm eastern. I'll be troubleshooting and later tonight will have to take the site back down to resync the database servers and move the current data back to the primary database server. I've never seen 4 servers go down simultaneously before so this is a strange one. I apologize for the inconvenience.

warning: mysql_connect() [function. mysql-connect]: Can't connect to MySQL server on '10. 2. 14. 1' (64) in /www/turbodieselregister.com/htdocs/TDRHeader.php on line 16

hope this helps

Ok, the sites completely back up. It looks like there was some sort of power event because all 4 servers locked up at the same time. When the main database server came back up it needed a file system check which is why it didn't book completely. The two web servers mount a directory from the database server to store user pictures and some flat files, etc. Because the database server wasn't up they couldn't mount the directory so they didn't come up. I had to take the site down for another hour to do some database checks and resync the two database servers. We're going to have someone go to the data center and check out the UPS to make sure everythings ok there. I've never had 4 servers go down simultaneously - hopefully this was a fluke.

No Gary, no connection. Literally all 4 servers shut down at the exact same time. The only thing that could do that is a power issue. I'm on the site literally hours a day and I never saw a slow down and it's not running any faster for me now than it was yesterday morning.

I've figured out what happened. The battery in our UPS (a 3000va one btw) just went bad. The UPS runs a self test every two weeks and when it did that the servers powered down (without an orderly shutdown). We've ordered replacement batteries and they are on the way. We found the problem yesterday which is why the site was down for about 20 minutes. I hope to have the new batteries in and installed before the next self test.
