First let me say that my truck held up great in the accident. I was hit head on by a pontiac grand am. I Won!!! Nobody hurt all is fine but here is the problem. I went to the dealer here in St. Louis were I purchased (not the dealer were Tomeygun is) They told me I would have to make an appointment next week just to get an estimate. So I drove 1/2 hour to deaker for estimate and they wanted me to come back next week just to get the estimate. I asked them if they could at least look at it as the damage is minor and mabey fax me an estimate later. They would not even get off there lazy as**** and look at it . I am done with that dealer.

The heck with the dealer. Try to find an independant body and paint shop in your area. Ask around and you will find out who the best or better ones are. I bet they wont jack you around about an estimate.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Lots of times your insurance company will refer you to local bodyshops they have had good results with in the past - no, not necessarily the ones that work cheap, but ones who have made the customer happy with their results.

Definately go for an independant body shop, damn near all the time they do much better work, and more time in it. The dealer doesn't care about detail as much. They don't have to worry about you referring friends to them, but the body shops do, so they typically put more into it.

What insurance do you have? Many of the big insurance compaines (State Farm for example) have their own esitmators.

I agree there are some dealers that seem to be anything but user friendly. But I do not go along with the comment about going to an independent body shop. I have not had the pleasure of finding an independent that did the same caliper of work the dealer body shop can do. Not saying they don't exist, just none around be that I am aware of. Also the dealer will only use Mopar parts (hopefully), which on most item are better in quality.

I think I would move on to another dealer, and leave the other one behind. If they are already this goofy, just wait to till is an issue and they all ready have been paid. Good luck with the body work, and yes you were right, the main thing is no one was hurt.

I don't agree with the dealer comment. one of my best buddys is a body man,I used to be till I went to dc. I take my vehicles to the dealer that my buddy works for ,to let him do my work. or at his home. its not the shop that does quality work its the bodyman/painter ,that does.
