What's wrong with some people?

I went to the local WalMart during lunch to buy some motor oil for my '03. I was planning on switching to synthetic Rotella 5w40 instead of the normal 15w40 I've always used. There were four 1-gallon jugs of 5w40 on the shelf, so I started to grab three of them up.

Then I remembered to check out the seals since I've been burned in the past. Sure enough, all four jugs had their tamper seals removed. So it appears that someone else had bought them, replaced the oil with something else, and then returned them to WalMart for a refund. I ended up buying the 15w40 Rotella CJ-4 with intact seals.

Moral of the story, ALWAYS check those tamper seals prior to new oil purchases. Why the WalMart return counter staff don't check them is something I'll never understand.

You have to sign a form to return product to Walmart. I would have taken one of them to the front desk and have them check it out.

Its getting so wide spead that it could be a matter of survival to do the same , not that I do , but thats how it looks , its realy all about numbers , at some point , percentages of greed and number of people that give into it , sooner or later it becomes a majority , then thats how life servives , dog eat dog , the prices get high enough that the cost of everything getting way beyound reason , this is just an analogy to me , the top gouges so every body below has to gouge/steal , to come there higher costs .
In true free market , its the buyer that are in control , refuse to pay the artificaly high prices and they'll come down .
Back to the top , If we persue justic with our leaders [ prosicute them ] that will set the tone for the future , write now they are by any definission getting away with murder , let alone the lesser crimes .

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY - Are you one of those people that blame all your failures and shortcomings on someone else? Well, so-and-so does it, so why can't I?



Yes, we lack moral and responsible leadership, but I still hold myself responsible for my actions and no others.

i check everything over before i buy it to see if any seals were broken or tampered with [oil, peanut butter, jam, juice, water... ]

MFalkinham, one time I went into local auto store, made the purchase and got to the shop with the 3 new gals of oil. 2 out of 3 were used oil some else had returned. Used shop truck to go back because my CTD had no oil in it. When I tried to return the oil and inform them of what had happened, they accused me of doing it. to say the least I was HOT. I have been there and done that.

I picked up a couple gallons of Rotella T at a local O'Reilly's. Seal was broke. I informed management that I would not buy oil with a broken seal and they needed to be a little more vigilant.

That was the 2nd time I ran into that situation at an O'Reillys.

Come to think of it, I ran into something similar at Autozone a couple of years back. Bought oil and a Mobil1 filter for my Heep. And discovered when I got home (before I drained it... . ) that it wasn't a Mobil1 filter in the box. I've done enough business in that outlet that I didn't get any flack when I went back in 30 minutes after I bought it.
