I'll be spending New Year's Eve at home, as usual, and I'm faced with the same dilemma that I run into every year. . What should I pig out on?!!

What do you guys like to snack on while your waiting for the ball to drop?

Deerhound has a good suggestion, but since my dad makes that and he is 1300 miles away I will stick with beer. I am gonna pig out on beer:eek:

Over here, sashimi (raw fish) is a traditional must have on the menu. Top grade yellow fin tuna prices go through the roof this time of the year. $30-40 a lb. I'm passing on the sashimi this year and eating oysters and rib-eye steak.

Doc...

you're gonna love this. Although you have no access to REAL beer (Bayern Scottish Ale), throw this apetizer together.

Crush and heat some black beans, and mix in crushed garlic, cummin, cilantro, chopped onions and medium heat salsa. All spices to your taste. Simmer for 15 minutes, covered, stirring often. Serve with salted tortilla chips. If you have access to Fat Tire beer, that will do.

Be sure to sip Jack Daniels during preparation of the dip. Definitely enhances the flavor!

Naw... you guys got it all wrong. About 4:00 p. m. open a bottle of "Dynamite" Cabernet S. It is a great $15 wine. Pour yourself a glass and partake while you take a nice roasting chicken out of the fridge. Take that chicken and a sharp knife and make about 20 little slits through the skin, all over the body. Poke about 10 cloves of garlic under it's skin, and about 10 short spears of fresh Rosemary. Put that sucker in a roasting pan and into a 325 oven for about 1 hr. plus... till it's done. Partake a little more, while it is cooking, and as you make some side dishes... Potatoes of any kind go great with chicken. While all this is cooking you can go out (Weather permitting) and pop the hood, consider what your New Year's Bombing Resolution is... Partake some more. Go back in and check the chicken. (The smell WILL be AWESOME!)

Meat, Potatoes, Wine and Truck... does it get any better than this?
