what exhaust to use

I am asking this question for my brother who lives in Calif, and needs your advise regarding Power Chips. He has a 1999 TD, AT, with 3. 55 rear end. It's a 3/4 ton, long bed, quad cab, 4X4, with 53,000 miles on it. He just put a new Lance Camper on the truck and would like a little more power in general. He is thinking about the Hypertech Power Programmer III. Whats your opinion? His truck is stock and runs great. All he wants is more power without harming the trans etc. Any other programmers to consider?

I have the Hypertech on my 99, along with some other things! Initially, I had some problems loading up the programs, but it was my fault for not unhooking my VA and boost fooler before loading the hypertech programs. I tried it by itself and it felt every bit if not stronger than the VA box I was running by itself. I have been running them together now for quite some time and all is great. By itself, I don't think you would have any transmission problems either, it has three power levels and can also adjust for tire size.

I would recommned he have gauges though for any towing he might do.

I have the Diesel Dynamics TTPM and RV275's for my camper application. I have the TTPM set to level 2 to clear up the smoke at low rpm's and to try to save the OEM clutch a bit longer. Love the combo. Just like stock but faster.

I am currently running an EZ. But also ran a Diablo for a while. I like both. Very simple installs, and seems to be a good product for the cost.

I use Hypertech III on my 1999 4X4 with a 3. 55 Rear End. I tow a 4,000 lbs boat and have 285 X 75 X 16 Tires. I hated the stock 245 tires it came with and the Hypertech III will adjust your speedometer up to 44 inch tires. Finally, it will read the error codes and reset them. BTW, I have an automatic 47RE which is rated for 450 FTLBS. SO, Hypertech suited my needs with the three levels of adjustment available based on your towing and driving desires.

I love my Van Aaken box and believe it is more bang for the buck than the EZ, since its at least $100 cheaper, and more low end grunt. JMHO.
