On a vette, camaro, or other sports car- these may make sense. No sidewall to flex, with proper suspension and tire inflation these would handle very "crisply" probably too "crisp" for even the sports car buyers. Good for the hard core SCCA types- maybe if they handle that good. On an SUV ( say ESCALADE) these tires are an abomination. A 2 1/2" stone can ruin your tire-- Whisky Tango Foxtrot. I have paved my dirt diveway in broken stone/cement blocks that big!

No doubt they look weird on a 5500 lb SUV. I've seen a similar setup on an H2 Hummer the other day... talk about pimped out.

Cool technology to make tires like that, but I guess I just don't "get" how it benefits a truck or SUV... except to impress the ladies and show off how much money you just WASTED.

Too bad that's a waste of a good SUV.

I hate 'em! Somebody loves them though as they seem to be the coming thing, or at least the powers that be (manufacturers) think they are, and the sheeplike public will buy anything without complaining untill it is time to buy new tires. The 17's and 20's on the new Rams are an example. Sure, they made the brakes bigger to mandate the 17's, but was it for safety or was it for styling/advertising hype? Explain to me the 20" option on the 1500's as something other than styling! I get all the car magazines and it is sickening to see 55 Chevies, 64 GTO's, Cobra Jet Mustangs and Hemi Roadrunners which look perfect EXCEPT for the God-Awfull 17 and 18" wheels with their accompanying low profile tires.

It's a new model tire that is made for Los Angles... . When the cops are chasing the driver and throw out the spike strips, They can run on the rims and not lose their top end speed:eek: Chris

I seen one guy :-{} with the cops once. He had a set up like that and had a flat. The moron refused to move his mini truck from the middle of the road saying, "I can't drive it like that, it will mess up my wheel. " The cop ended up calling a wrecker and had it towed. Oh boy was that moron ever mad.

Those wheels scream "BLING-BLING".

I'll expect to see them soon on every little fart piped 1. 2 litre rice burner in town.
