I'm going to need new tires soon, and hope to budget for some new aluminum wheels with them. I see the Alcoa wheels have specific center diameters for hubcentric fit on the Dodge Ram trucks. But I think I prefer the looks of Eagle alloys (pretend we don't notice they look like Ford wheels) , which don't mention this precise hubcentric fit for the center hole. Instead, the Eagle documentation seems to infer that the replacment lug nuts (with the tapered end) locate the wheels for concentric fit.
Is this issue a problem? Do I need to stay with the hubcentric fit for aftermarket wheels?
For the tire question, if I try to fit larger tires (say - 255/85), and assuming I use spacers to prevent sidewalls from rubbing, how does the typical spacer ensure the hubcentric wheel fit?
Any more suggestions or tips are appreciated.
Thanks,
John
