Could someone supply the bearing and cup part numbers for the front wheel bearings for a 2WD 3500 truck. I didn't particularly want to go to the dealer for the bearings cause they charge an arm and a leg!! I was going to do the bearings this weekend and was getting the bearings from a supply house. According to the service manager at Dodge, if the hub has a dust cup then it has serviceable bearings. If it just has a nut on the hub then the bearings are sealed. Is this right??

Thanks for the help.

lub or not

Ron, thanks for the reply. I pulled the dust cover off the front hub on the '99 and it is a serviceable bearing. I priced the set at the Dodge dealer and they wanted $85 per hub for bearings. NAPA wanted $22 per hub but they were Chinese bearings. Finally went to Autozone and they had the bearings in Timkens made in the USA for $22 per hub!!!

The Timken numbers are

inner cup LM50130

inner brg LM501349

outer brg 15101

Aw shoot! Looks like they didn't give me the outer cup. Well back to the Zone!!!

:--) Boy are you guys lucky. I had my left front wheel bearing replaced by a dealer in New Mexico a couple of months ago and it cost $550. 00 plus. I also had to pay $60. 00 for overnight air shipment from Denver. Not a happy camper!

OUCH!!!!! You must have the sealed bearings. The bearings in my '99 are the old style serviceable Timken roller bearings. The dealer said DC changed to the sealed bearing about half way thru the model run in '99. Said for just the hub and sealed bearings it was 285 bucks per side. Glad I got the old rollers!!
