I bought the 3500 rear wheel cylinders to upgrade the rear brakes. I have changed quite a few in other vehicles, anything I should watch out for on the CTD or just the usual in and out? The price was good, $12. 99 at the local parts house, and made here in the good ol' US of A by Raybestos. Cheap enough if it makes a difference.



Has anyone had good luck with the new trans pan gasket the stealer sells? It's black and a harder plastic that is susposedly required as a no-leak replacement due to govt. regs. I'm having more trouble sealing it than I ever did with the cork gaskets and the steel inserts. Thanks

I checked and AutoZone wants just over 10 bucks apiece for them. But I'm not sure if they're made in USA or some communist dictatorship.

I changed mine out last weekend, based on information found on this site. I highly recommend it. A world of difference, as it actually will stop now without trying to push the brake peddle through the floor. As far as any problems, I had none. It's a straight change out. Just make sure the fluid resevoir doesn't get to low when bleeding the brakes. You may consider replacing all the fluid if it hasn't been done for awhile. The biggest problem is breaking the brake drum loose. I needed to put the back of the rig on good jack stands, removed the tire and wheel, and all lug nuts except for a couple left on fairly loose. Start the rig, get some speed going and slam on the brake. They came right off. I'm sure there are other ways to make the final brake adjustments, but if you have an auto. like I do, I found that just removing the rear u-joint helped for turning the drum to adjust the brake. Alot of good ideas can be found if you decide to do a search. Good luck. You'll be glad you took the time and exspense, as it's a big difference for not so much money.

Or put the transfer case in neutral.



This is a modification that I am definately going to do soon!

Thanks for the input. I will get on this one right away, as I don't like the brakes like they are. I changed out the brake fluid about 6mos. ago, and it was getting a little worn out. Anything to keep the ABS and parts from going south on me! Thanks again,
