wheel fitment and lift kit

i have a 98 dodge ram 2500 and want to fit either 20x10 or 20x12 with a -44 offset, i currently have no lift kit and have a 285/75/18 and i have about 1 to 2 inches of clearance at full lock, ive heard people have put 2 inches of a leveling kit on and some minor trimming to fit 33s i believe, id rather not have to trim anything, but if i have to i have to, but i am wondering, how big of a lift kit do i need to fit the 20x10 or 20x12 and either 33s or 35s, if somebody could help me with an answer, that would be awesome, thank you!
