Deutz or Cummins ?

Time to upgrade?

My main concern for the past 5 years has been to find a vehicle to make wheelchair accessible. I would prefer 4x4 considering where I live and where I like to go, as some of the places aren't really accessible for anyone without 4x4. I am looking for maximum reliability in the driveline and know that some Diesel engines can be ran on waste vegetable oil or waste motor oil that would greatly reduce fuel prices but I don't know how these fuels would work in the winter. Thanks in advance for any thoughts, opinions, or answers.

Take a look at the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans. Since 2015, they are available in 4x4. As with any van in that category, there are loads of accessibility equipment available for them.

My 2015 has been excellent for transporting my disabled mother. We do not have a wheelchair lift, only a powered step platform. But I know several that do have lifts in theirs and they are quite pleased.

Thanks jgillott,
I like where you're trying to go to help me what better than a proven Mercedes platform. Except and I should have mentioned this I'm trying my hardest to step away from vans minivans, cargo vans, and pretty much any other type of van. I'm trying to see if a truck, suv, or car could be converted ( and I don't mean the 2wd truck conversions that take away the transfercase for use like all I've seen). Wonder if a rat rod would/could work after all they're mismatched Frankenstein vehicles anyway.
