Competition cut the wire

Alright guys, lets hear some real world stories or pictures on how the 3500's do offroading, mudding, etc. As you can see by the sig. , right now my truck's a 2500, but I'll be swapping rear ends and bed for ones off of a 3500 (best friend totalled his 2500 and got 3500, so I gotta keep up with the Jones's:D ). I'm just curious how they handle themselves when not on the pavement. It will have 235/85 BFG muds on it.

I have wheeled w/ a few dually's and they are fun and lots of traction if you have the right tires. Watch out for rocks and stuff getting caught between the rear tires. In the mud w/ deep ruts the wider tack of the rear end helps out a lot. Wheel hop is much more exaderated( SP ) w/ the dual tires. Watch those rear hips when going through tight spots; it's easy to forget about them when you are used to driving a single rear wheel truck.

I had a GMC K-3500 Crew Cab Dually with 38" tall Super Swampers on it and it did awesome off road. For a while I ran the four 38"x12. 50's" in the back and two 39. 5"x18" Boggers up front and I had more traction than I ever have had.

It seems that the extra width of the rear bud wheels makes the frame flex a lot more in the ruff stuff. Of the Dodge Dually's that I have driven off-road it seems that the extra foot print helps with the weight of the truck.

Have fun, Thomas

There fun for the WOW factor (Mine is anyway) but all in all Trailin' and cresting hillclimbs suck cause its long wheelbase (I wish I couldah found a std cab 4x4 DLy sometimes) . So needless to say high centering is a easy task to complete ;)

I was at my ol' mans place in VT and there is a quarry that gets very silty/claylike at the bottom. Sooooooh I just got done climbing up some fire roads that skidders made a mess out of and wanted to let the 33" Mud terrains do what they do best ..... Terrorize mud. I have pics SOMEWHERE but I have no idea what disk , name , etc so when I do find em the world will know as they are the sickest looking life sized mud model of a ram you will ever see.
