Wheels - Help not urgent $$$$

Need to loose the potato chip chromes that came with my 99. Problem - other than the wheels being bent - I like the way they look. Any suggestions on replacements - I'm not too hooked on the factory ones. What looks best on out trucks. I hate to say it but I kinda like the ones on the new chebys.



Please feel free to send pics or links to wheel manufacturers - I'll look more into it when I get home Saturday / Sunday.

check Alcoa wheels at www.southwestwheel.com or at www.alcoawheels.com or call Alcoa at 800-242-9898. See TDR36, p. 142. These are very strong forged wheels. Appearance is personal preference, but the Classic style is very popular.

Thanks Joe - The Alcoa's are pretty cool but not my flavor, I kinda like the chrome look better but, that depends on the wheel style. Any others out there?

I'd reall appreciate some help with a few suggestions as far as sites to check out wheels other than the Alcoas. I'm not having much luck finding anything.

Any one know of any black wheels out there that are not just ugly steel wheels. I am looking of something like alcoas but in black??

You could take a cheapo set of aluminums or forged ones and have 'em powder coated any old color you want... .

Well I had thought about that, I had even thought about having my stockers done up. I just don't know what to do about the center caps. They are plastic and I doubt that they would paint up very nice. I found these

My factory chrome wheels are rusting on the <em>inside</em>. We discovered this when the valve stems started leaking. I went to a local tire shop and the monthly specials for American Racing wheels are outstanding.

$75 plus stems, caps for the Outlaw II in 16x8

$85 plus tems, caps for the Ventura in 16x8



I was thinking Outlaw II until I saw the Ventura in 8 hole. It has extra spokes than the 5 hole.

I was looking for black wheels also. I checked out the AR-type steel wheels but could not find anything with a high enough weight rating, the max was 2000 #. I could not find anything alloy in factory black.



I ended up purchasing a set of alloys and had them powder coated locally.
