Ive got very good stock power out of my truck for what is. It tows pretty darn good for what it is compared to others I know of that have the same rig. With my previous 94' CTD 4x4 with TST 250 plate, it would smoke my 03' with same load from the start, and had alot more guts through out and got 21 MPG. I think I'm starting to miss that feeling and want more umph like I used to have with the old 94'. I guess I'm having a hard time adjusting to the truck, even after over a year of ownership. Could this be the " Power Bug" addiction?

Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

I think you are showing signs of that dreaded condition. I am as well. Planning on a box of some kind fairly soon. You can just do so much with these trucks.

You are about to head down a wonderfully exciting, slippery slope

Once the bug hits, the only remedy I have found is a wife that says "we have 1 baby and another one coming in a month, don't spend any more dang money on that truck!!!" Funny, she bought me gauges for Christmas a few years ago. I know this helps none at all but I did chuckle at seeing you where I was about 3 years ago. Enjoy!!

Any person can lease/buy a Hemi.

A cut above is the person that springs for the CTD.

The cream of the crop is the person that will mod a CTD.

Just think that you are joining the "elite class". Not that we are snobs, it is just that we know we are better than everyone else!!

Yes it's rather sad.

You see the 2500 and 3500 running down the road, getting 8mpg empty with that wimpy hemi. Some even have big ole Hemi stickers plastered over the truck like they think they got something powerful.

He he he :-laf

The power bug bit right around the time I found this site, which was about 2 years ago. Then I bought the truck about 1 year ago. I already had a pretty good plan about the mods I wanted to do with the truck before I even had the truck!

At least I didn't buy the mods first then the truck second! :D

Mine struck on the first drive in my truck. Going on two years with this one, and on the 2nd anniversary I'll have more hp and tq than I know what to do with... until I get used to it...

I bought a Cummins because of the "headroom" it has for power.

Whether it's a 12v, 24v, or HPCR I feel it's easier and more fun to make power with than either a Duramax or Powerstroke.

So, the bug bit me before I even bought my Cummins. I had been dreaming about a Dodge Cummins since 1991, when I rode in a 300k+ mile Dodge that had been turned up and ran like a clock.

amazing isnt it, you feel the power of the CTD and you want MORE!! I had mine 3 months and added a juice/atitude. I just ordered an '06 mega cab and am looking forward to a smarty (doesnt leave a footprint).

Since the first time I bought the 94', and joined the TDR, along with the learning experience of the add ons to that truck, the CTD is hard to get away from. I'm tring to figure out which box to go with on the 03'. It's been a tough choice because Ive read alot of info, the pitfalls, of turning the pressure up beond stock and know the results that most boxes produce.

Im kinda scared of going beyond stock just becuase of those results that others have had to soak up in there back pocket Oo.

Man I wished TST could come out with a mild towing box 50 to 70 HP. that would be cool.

I diddnt last long. I cant leace anything alone anyway. it was gonna stay stock to finnish my race car. oops. lol. there are some nice boxes that do not change fuel pressure which are nice. thats what I would look into.

That is the most accurate statement right there!

Run the box on 2/1, and you'll have 55hp and 60lb-ft, or 2/2 and you'll have 55hp and 120lb-ft. Problem solved ;)

... ... ... Now, can you keep it there? :-laf

It hit me at about 500 miles when I did the exhaust, now with 2,000 miles I have an AFE Stage 2 and an Edge EZ and I also took out the silencer ring on the turbo.

On my 2nd gen it bit me when I was pulling a long grade loaded to the tune of 16,000lbs & a powerjoke passed me pullin more wt. & I couldn't catch him. I only had 1,000 miles on that truck when the bug bit.

Now with my 3rd gen which has a little more power stock I've been taking it slow. Only done the Rokktech sensor & MBRP muffler. Come on Marco we're waiting on that Smarty for the 3rd gens.

the bug bit me before I bought my '03, the night it came home the silencer ring fell out ( I didn't even have Bank approval yet) the muffler and tail pipe fell of @ 1 month. the stock springs found a new home @ 3 mo. and the list just goes on. That bug is very annoying, It is still chewing on me (Kore and a buckstop as funds permit)
