When sled pulling......

Probably a stupid question but what gear should i pull in, when sled pulling? last year i was in 4 wheel drive low 2nd gear NOT ENOUGH SPEED! So either im thinking of going 4wheel low D and let it shift through all the gears or ---Just Going in 4 wheel hi 1st or 2nd, i do have 4:10 gearing complete dtt transmission, and 33-12. 50 bfg mud terrains, Thanks for all your help SMOKY... ...

On my 24v truck, I pulled 4lo with transmission in drive, and overdrive locked out. This is what I was told was best way to go with auto.

I don't think so, if it did I didn't notice it, was too busy getting bounced around from the track. (it got real rough).



But I would say no it didn't. And as you know I don't have a mystery switch

2nd gear low range was the right gear at the track i pulled at,with a stock 2000 qcab 4. 10's with just an EZ,it was 225 ft full pull. Im going to use drive this yr,since i have double the HP now.

Listening to Eric's runs(loud on the speakers) didn't sound like it was in lockup, but you can hear a few go to it. Sounds good in the quarter runs!

nice pull need more power

well back from angels camp tonight and i ended up going 4 low range drive, and pulled 154. 8 which isnt bad for my setup could have been better (let up a lil bit half way) but had a nice run , truck ran smooth hehe thnx for the help guys SMOKY

When pullin a couple of things that'll help is:I made some 4x4x4

blocks to put between the axle & rubber snubbers this stopped the wheel hop,another thing is get going as fast as you can so this is where the auto's help as the speed you build will carry you a greater distance. If the track is loose lower air in front tires to 22 psi. More rpm's are better too,

So Hold The Pedal to the Metal & when Pullin & beat brands #2&3

well i usually wait until i get the green flag and when i do i stage the turbo to a goo 15-20 psi, the let her rip and keep it floored until i get the red flag, thats just my . 02 and theory how bout everyone else?????
