when to Raise a lowerd american flag ???????

this has been on my mind for a few days... . after the Boston incident, the flags are at half mast... so my question is when is appropriate to raise the flag again, i have noticed they are still at half mast..... I though it was like a few days later or 1 week later... . I have tried to look up, but nothing says when... thanks... . I'm sure some military people would know.....
