When To Use The Tow/Haul Feature?

Do you folks who tow different weights notice a big difference with the tow/haul feature?



I like the overall set-up with a 10K# 5ver, but it is way too much for only a 2K# small boat (she'll bust your teeth:-laf).



I always use the EB but dislike the tow/haul with only 2K#. Just curious what is too little weight for the tow/haul.

I wouldn't even consider using tow/haul with only 2K in tow. I would use it starting around 5K minimum.

I always use tow-haul with my 10k trailer in tow, but its to much with out it or with a light load, I don't use it on a long down hill either, because it will down shift on you, when all you want to do is hold back the load

We have an 08 5500 rated at 19,500 lbs... we run it loaded most of the time up and down the freeways... .

We use tow/haul in the mountains when we need the exhaust brake... .

The rest of the time its turned off scooting down the freeway... .

I use the EB without T/H when pulling 9000 lb boat. The trailer has excellent 4 wheel disk brakes and the T/H mode causes harsh cycles when the truck gears down and the trailer surge brakes grab then releases then grabs ... ... you get the picture. Everything is very smooth with the T?H off.
