Everywhere I call they are sold out. I am hoping someone can help me locate a Jordan 2020. If not able to find one would I be messing up by buying a Prodigy if I am towing up to 16000lbs?

I have a Jordan and like it real well overall. I have had a problem with it hanging upwhen it's real cold. I attribute that to a probable slight mis-alignment which I haven't tried to correct yet.

After saying that, I towed for years with a Prodigy. Except for being more difficult to adjust correctly for all conditions it was fine. When you have it set up for max performance on the road, you get some jerking in a parking lot or coming to a stop. Frustrating at times. The Jordan is much smoother operating since it activates in direct proportion to pressure on the pedal.

Many will say to only buy the BrakeSmart control. It's quite a bit more money and I believe you have to tap into the brake's hydraulic system. I didn't want to do that. I would use the Prodigy if I couldn't get a Jordan.

Hey guys, thought I would finally post something instead of just lurking. I picked this up from another diesel forum:

Several people had PM'ed me for information on getting a Jordan controller. Jordan has finally called it quits and is retiring and has not been shipping for several months. I spent some time with him today and he updated me with what is happening.

Jordan has sold his patents and all materials CAMCO. At present, they are still producing the cheaper controller called the "Actuator". It is a time based unit and somewhat cheaper in price than the Ultima 2020. The Ultima is presently out of production.

Jordan showed me his new Ultima he is working on right now for CAMCO. It should be ready for shipment sometime in the spring. It is really cool. It is much easier to install and is self adjusting on the control wire. The main console can now be placed anywhere you wish - - it no longer has the wire attached to it, rather it is electrically connected to a sensor mounted on the brake arm. It could be placed in the cubby in the dash if you wish. It further is operating at 318 cycles, so it will function beautifully in the hydraulic trailer brake setup. I should be testing a prototype in January or February and I will keep you posted on what I think of it. I sure like what I see so far. The new one should cost just a little more than the old Ultima - - final figures will be available once it is completed. Jordan was anticipating something like an additional $20 from the old Ultima.

I think he has some left here: Jordan Controller

Sure glad I got mine before he retired!!!! I love mine to sway the least; the best controller for the price in my opinion, and one of my best pruchases. Not to say the BrakeSmart is not a quality product it is just more expensive.

I guess one of my other worries is the 2020 is now obsolete and if we need parts, etc. we be out of luck. I suppose at that point it will be replace with a BrakeSmart as a solution. Not sure this will ever happen as the systems to be built of IRON.
