try your local truck service centers. 1"-14 is pretty common for the filter threads. cummins will have the ff5319 [10" tall] in stock always, most of the time they will have the ff5320. cat dealers also have their 1r0749 & 1r0750 filters 2µ filters [same base, different length]. .

from time to time, peterbilt dealers have sales on filters [cat usually] and if you sign up to the peterbilt truckcare, you can get some online coupons for sales at the pete dealership. .

that price seems good, as long as shipping isn't too bad

I have used a filter from Permacool, look on there site it is a 2 micron w/water seperator diesel rated and has some big flow #'s. Take the part# and put it in Summit, I think they are about 30. 00 with a filter on the head.

The FASS 95 that I have has a seperate water sepertator canister. I'd like to get some cheap 2 micron fuel filters. I saw the originator of this thread was paying $12 a piece. The last two posts are helpful yet they don't tell me if the $12 filters will fit.

I do also ? if the $12 filters are 2 micron cause from the info on the link it doesn't actually say. I'll call Richard but their filter is $6 more, although it does say it is a 2 micron so it could possibly be the cheapest, you guys tell me.

Not looking to bust anyones chops here but I go through filters to fast to pay any more than I have to. I figure a 2 micron is better than what the factory was putting on our trucks so I do see any point to paying high dollar for a 2 micron.

Do ya smell what I'm standin' in?

There are filters and there are filters

Remember,. . you get what you pay for.

There are two micron filters and there are two micron filters. You want a 2 micron ABSOLUTE filter. If it's not,. . then you're really not getting a 2 micron filter. How much are injectors? How much is engine repair? Go ahead and save the $6. It's a pay now or pay a lot more later deal. :D

I understand what your saying. I run quality filters everywhere else I just figured that since I have already run about 25,000 gallons of fuel through the stock 7 micron filter without trouble that anything with a 2 mic rating would be better than what I have gotten away with.

Called Richard who told me that filter will not fit the FASS 95. He said he thought II had come up with a filter that would though. Gave them a call and low and behold I have 6 filters on the way to my door. Now it is a race to see who will be there first... them. . or me!!!

Two items,

1. the above post shows just what kind of guy Rich at GlacierDiesel is, he is always like that, VERY helpful, if he doesn't have it or doesn't know an answer he will tell you and give you a phone number.

2. I kept my stock filter, I believe most guys don't, I still change it about every 12-15kmi. So I only change the 2 mic about every 25-30kmi. Obviously if I saw a drop in fuel pressure (measured after both filters) I would change early. I will stick with Fleetguard filters and probably get them from Rich at Glacier, the extra $6 I will call consulting fees. :D

Filters form II came in and unfortunatley the won't fit a 95. The threaded piece that the filter screws onto is to small (about 3/4" versus the filters 7/8")

I have made many calls that all start out with someone telling me that they have the filter only to find out that they are not used to the new 95 which uses the smaller male thread size. One of the guys I called said he called Brad at FASS to find out what the real scoop was. According to him FASS is working on the development of a 2-3 micron filter for the new 95. It is a ways out so for now I have ordered some 10 micron filters.
