I found one end of a small (about 1/2-in dia. ) rubber hose dragging on the ground beneath the rear axle the other day. It attaches to the rear axle into a fitting that sits on top of the axle, driver's side (I hope the attached photo helps - the hose I'm referring to is near vertical in the picture just to the right of the air springs, the loose end is in the foreground of the photo near the differential). It looks like it may have something to do with the brakes (vacuum hose?), but not sure. There are some other line(s) wrappped in a plastic corrugated shroud (wires?) that come into the same fitting. The loose end has a clip that attaches to something, but after looking around I'm not sure what... sure could use some help. Everything seems to run fine, though.

It looks like it may be the axle vent line from that half-shaft. It goes up before going down to prevent overpressure of the area and to prevent water from getting in.

How long ago did you install the new shocks?

My vent tube connects to the upper shock nut, I'm guessing yours came off but never made it back on.

That is entirely possible... I had the new shocks put on about 8 months ago. Thanks.
