We all know the best part of having a big bad truck is that we can add all sorts of bad accessories. my question is, where have you come up with to add more switches, be it just a single one for for lights, two for seat heaters, or have found that spot to fit 6-8 to run multiple banks of off road lights. I currently have back-up lights, want fog lights and seat heaters, so i'm looking to add at least 4 switches. Ohh, maybe one to turn off my meth injection. as you can see the possibilities are endless, however the dash space isn't. I need ideas for a 98, but would like to see anything anyone has come up with. PICS please.

I dont have pictures nor do I have a 98 so am unsure of the dash layout. However in my 01 automatic there is a cubby hole just to the right of the radio. I pulled out the cubby hole and used it as a template on a piece of aluminum flat stock. Cut it out, painted it black and inserted it in place of the cubby hole. It will hold 6 switches at least of the style I am using

12VDC/30A SPST Illuminated Rocker Switch with Red LED - RadioShack.com

I then labeled the switches with a label maker machine.

The switches I am using you can find with different color leds. I had used a couple blue ones in addition to the red ones so that I could differentiate the switches that were on in the dark. However the blue ones are way to bright. The red ones are just right. Have not tried the yellow or green led.

Let's see... the digital switch for the washer heater (push on/off, off with key off) is embedded in the heater control panel. The bed light switch and led are embedded in the light switch panel. Switch for the KC Daylighters in mounted down by the PB release (so it won't be accidentally set-has a son alert wired in cause those bad boys will run batteries down fast when the key's off. Foglight switch is OEM, no surprises there. Switch for deer whistles (when I rarely shut them off) is down on the knee bolster. Guess I don't like a race car row of unrelated switches--I tried to regionalize based on purpose/function. Gust my $. 02...

In my home made, dash mounted gauge pod.

Had a pic, but I have no idea where it is.

I used the Brolin CB mount and drilled into the angled part of it and mounted the switched and used a rocker style like shown above. ,

I think there is a pic of my swithes in my reader's rigs, it's a switch for my backup lights, with an indicator light.

Okay, there isn't a pic, and I don't have the truck anymore :( grrrrr! Anyways, if you look in my pics of my '04, there's a pic of my shifter knob, and you can see the fan speed knob for the a/c, I drilled two holes there, one above the other: one for the indicator light, and one for the switch. I put a three-way switch for the tractor lights that are mounted on the headache rack. Up was tied into the reverse circuit, middle was off, and down was on.

Fire service switch panels

If you don't mind mounting a multiple switch panel then any of several types are available through Gall's fire service catalog or any other type of the same genre. I do not have such needs at this time but if I did, I would consider one of these as they are all heavy service duty rated for fire/emergency work. They are all self localized fused heavy duty high amp switches and are easy to mount and wire in. Most come with their own mounting brackets. Just find a spot to mount it and your good to go. :)

I have 7 mini toggles mounted in a vertical row on the far right side of the removable dash panel under the steering column. (Where you access the interior fuse box. ) I did have to notch tbd first layer of steel plate to allow room for the backs of the switches. Ill try to get pics later today.
