now for you newbies... . see how the 24 valve is a nice clean pic... and the 12 valve is a fading away and fuzzy pic... that is kind of how the rigs are... the OLD 12 valve is fading away and most are heading to the junk yards soon as they are weak and puny... so make sure you purchase todays technology and not the old news stuff :p :-{} now that ought to start something

willyslover, I see about 50 percent more descriptions on the "overvalved" layout than I see on the "properly" valved layout. Confidence is not the word that comes to mind. If you think about it, the only reason DC went with more valves is emissions:-laf

And remember "No Whining"

Ronco

PS, Where are the quick disconnect fittings for the "lift pump quick-and-often replacement"?

I would take a dumb pump over an electronic one, a motor which you do not need to worry about the LIFT PUMP FAILING, yeah, I am talking about the ISB... . oh well, just my opinion. . THAT ought to start something as well!

The way I'm seeing, it is we have the old 12 valve standby and the 24 valve just got phased out by the common rail.

Interesting... .

Of the diagrams of the 24valve and 12valve engines, it would be very nice if an enterprizing member could find where the diagrams could be produced on a form of plastic, where they could be displayed on the garage wall for referrence, toilet, shower, table place mat, given away at a dealership after service work with the dealer's name etc prominently displayed etc etc, another thought, placed very Reverently on chest of a dearly departed one, to hasten the journey to the Promised Land, along with a quart of said person's oil, filter, additives and air filter, probably help to stimulate Trade. Now, I feel like a Game of Rugby. Scrum Down.
